Jen Marshall

Jen Marshall joined ZSH after almost twenty years working for the Knopf Doubleday Publishing Group at Penguin Random House in various roles from Director of Publicity for Anchor Books to Publicist-at-Large for the imprint. Prior to that, Jen worked as an independent bookseller. Jen is known for creating innovative publishing plans that help ensure her authors find the largest, most passionate readership possible for their books. She brings to her work as an agent a thorough understanding of the publishing and bookselling industries, as well as deep expertise in public relations, social media, and audience-building. As a publicist, Jen has worked closely with a wide range of award-winning and best-selling authors, including Margaret Atwood, P.D. James, Ayelet Waldman, Dan Brown, Mona Simpson, Chris Bohjalian, E L James, Thomas Cahill, Claire Messud, Erin Morgenstern, Joseph Ellis, and Karen Armstrong. A native of northwest Connecticut, Jen graduated from Bucknell University with honors in English.

As an agent, Jen is interested in representing books you would recommend to your friends in a hot minute: literary fiction, commercial fiction, including crime, thrillers, fantasy, speculative fiction and up-market contemporary romance, select prescriptive non-fiction, style, pop culture, and compelling narrative non-fiction. She will divide her time between our New York office and her home in Western Massachusetts.
