Albert Lee brings nearly two decades of entertainment and publishing experience to Zachary Shuster Harmsworth. He joined ZSH from Us Weekly, where he served as Executive Editor and Executive Projects Director.
In 2008, he launched Wenner Media's bookazine division, publishing more than 50 titles in collaboration with Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber, Olympic gold medalists Gabby Douglas and Ryan Lochte, 20th Century Fox, Lionsgate Entertainment and many more. He has edited coverage of every major pop-cultural event of the last decade, including the Oscars, Emmys, Grammys, MTV VMAs, Met Gala, Cannes, Sundance, NY Fashion Week, Paris Fashion Week, the 2008 election of Barack Obama, the death of Michael Jackson, and the birth of Prince William and Duchess Catherine's children.
Prior to that, he served as Founding Editor in Chief of Mediabistro.com and Associate Editor at Nerve.com, and wrote frequently on the arts for The Village Voice, Dance Magazine and others. A native of southeastern Kentucky, he graduated cum laude at Princeton University with a major in religion and a minor in theater and dance, after studying at Phillips Exeter Academy.
Lee is interested primarily in nonfiction—especially narrative journalism, current affairs, pop culture, music, business and technology—as well as titles with strong book-to-film/TV potential.
